Here’s the hard truth I was convicted of: Parents are killing their children This month I’ve been burdened with the news of heart wrenching tragedies in our area which led me to a reality check that’s a bit hard to take in.
I’m sure you have seen reports about the three young girls who lost their lives while under the care of their father who is assumed to have killed them. Let me start by saying: This is tragic, and my intention is not to exploit the families who are enduring this incredible loss.
As I read through some of the comments I was struck by the hateful words describing the father and how he could do such a horrible thing to his children. every day, and you won’t see any hurtful comments toward them or headlines in the news; in fact, they are more likely to be commended for it.
Over 1 MILLION children are aborted in the United States every year. That averages 115 unborn children who are aborted EVERY HOUR of EVERY DAY…all under the protection of women’s rights and for women’s health. God help us.
The weight of this tragedy is extensive: The grief of each loss of innocent life, the hurt mothers and fathers will endure immediately or even years after choosing abortion, the generations being lost and the spiritual impact those souls will endure. This is why God’s truth about life must be rekindled in our hearts and spoken boldly.
I understand this is difficult to read (it’s difficult for me to write it), but these are things we already know. We need to be reminded of the hard truth so we can be moved by the Spirit to press on with our mission.
The investment of time, funds and prayers for Life Options is NOT wasted. Every day that we are open is an opportunity for God to work through us as we connect with people facing the most crucial decision of their lives. He is the God of love, forgiveness and hope; and that is what we share.
So far this year, 18 women came to Life Options seeking an abortion but had a change of heart and chose LIFE!
That’s the power of the God we serve – and the result of your investment in this ministry.
May you not be discouraged by my thoughts this month but instead be encouraged to know that lives are being saved in our valley and across the country through clinics just like ours as we remain united in our efforts to protect and defend the unborn.
